“My first meeting with Annabel at ‘Amend Sewing’ led to the most joyful experience of having my much-loved and well-worn handbag brought back to life when I had almost reconciled myself to having to part with it. Annabel’s keen creative eye saw a project in the making and she offered to re-cover it for me to give it a new lease of life. She diligently searched out a number of fabrics allowing me as much time as I needed to make my choice but once this was done, she set about delicately removing and cleaning the little appliquéd elephant on the front for reinstatement when the actual bag had been covered. The finished article is absolutely wonderful with the most exquisite hand sewing I have ever seen and her ability to envision the final outcome is a talent all of its own. I had no idea that I would get my old bag back looking almost the same as it did when I first had it years ago. She is a truly gifted lady and I suspect could make almost anything one wanted which is why I would wholly recommend her services.”
“Thanks to some nifty needle work Annabel has saved 2 of my favourite shirts from the recycling, she was very reasonably priced too.”
“Annabel altered my thermal curtains for me, by lengthening one from a pair, to fit a window door. The finish on the seam is almost invisible and done with great precision.”
“Annabel has completed a number of jobs for our local business, everything is finished with such care and attention to detail we are hoping to work closely with her for our future needs!”
“Annabel is a highly skilled, creative seamstress who seems to be able to mend, re-purpose or create anything – to a very high standard. She is very gentle, kind and patient with her time, ideas and manner and incredibly good value. I love the way she inserted a panel into my old skirt and used the leftover tartan fabric to make a beautiful bow tie and tie for Clan Brown! Lucky Bradninch to have Annabel & her gifts & skills.”
I recently went on a rag rug making course run by Annabel. It was great to sit in her work space plaiting and sewing rags to make a colourful and soft rug which I will treasure. It was such a nice way to spend the time and such a creative way to use up old bits of fabric. Also I have learnt a new skill that I am excited to try out at home. Thank you Annabel.
